US Customs Holiday Schedule for 2023

Holiday dates are important to keep in mind throughout the year to plan your operation accordingly around the special schedule for observance dates. 

On December 19th, 2022, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) released a list of Federal holidays for the calendar year 2023 in Cargo Systems Messaging Service (CSMS) #54415485.

The following days are designated as Federal holidays:

  • New Year’s Day (observed) – Monday, January 2nd,
  • Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. – Monday, January 16;
  • Washington’s Birthday – Monday, February 20;
  • Memorial Day – Monday, May 29;
  • Juneteenth National Independence Day (observed) – Monday, June 19;
  • Independence Day – Tuesday, July 4;
  • Labor Day – Monday, September 4;
  • Columbus Day – Monday, October 9;
  • Veterans Day – Friday, November 10;
  • Thanksgiving Day – Thursday, November 23;
  • Christmas Day (observed) – Monday, December 25.
